At least one member every year since 1985 has achieved their Dan grade. 2005 was an exceptional year with 10 attaining this honour.
2004
On Sunday 25th July Jean-Rene Badrick completed a line-up at the Budokwai to win his Black belt.
Being only 14 he cannot wear it until his 15th Birthday which is in November.
On Sunday 29th August William Henry completed a line-up at the Budokwai to win his Black belt, becoming Willesden's 49th member to achieve this honour.
On Sunday 31st October Jade Alleway completed a line-up in the Western Area to win her Black Belt, becoming Willesden's 50th member to achieve this honour.
2005
On Sunday 10th July eight of the clubs junior brown belts headed to High Wycombe for their first senior grading. 1 achieved 2nd Kyu, 4 became 1st Kyus and 3 went straight to 1st Dan.
Theo Spalding-McIntosh, Jerome Robinson-Reid and Ashley McKenzie all completed line-ups and have now increase the club's number of Black belts to 53.
On Saturday 23rd July, back at High Wycombe at the National Grading, two more Willesden members completed their line-ups and won their 1st Dans.
Colleen Kerr became our 54th and Chris Mullen our 55th Black Belt members. Congratulations to you both.
On Saturday 10th September, at the Bedford Senior Grading, two more Willesden members completed their line-ups and won their 1st Dans.
Shane Davin and Mirza Hasanbegovic both fought excellently to become our 56th & 57th Black Belt members. Congratulations to you both.
On Sunday 2nd October we returned to High Wycombe for the Buckinghamshire County Grading. Marwan El Gamal fought superbly to take 50 points on the day and his 1st Dan. Well done Marwan.
OK this year is turning out to be our best ever.
On Saturday 15th October the brother & sister team of Scott & Georgina Davies both gained their Black Belts on the same day at the National Dan Grading in High Wycombe. As with Jean-Rene, Georgina will need to wait for her 15th birthday next April before she can officially have the grade.
This take the total of Willesden's Dan Grades up to 60, and 10 of these came in the last four months and are pictured below:

2006
On Saturday 22nd July Jermaine McIntosh completed a line-up at the Wycombe Judo Centre to win his 1st Dan Black belt, becoming Willesden's 61st member to achieve this honour.
On the 17th November Zico Nzinga won sufficient points to gain his 1st Dan Black belt at the National Grading held in High Wycombe, taking Willesden's number of Dan grades to 62.
